the ideal and the abstract in theosophy and art
What is it about Theosophy that so inspired modern abstract painters such as Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky and Hill of Klint, among so many others ?
The Ideal and the Abstract in Theosophy and Art explores the influence of Theosophy on painters, poets and musicians, breathing new life into both philosophy and art. It was the birth of a new zeitgeist, the revival of long forgotten truths, a moment forever captured in oil and watercolour as fresh and new today as it was in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
