Principles of Meditation: raja yoga, the royal science.
Meditation practice is broadly unique to each individual yet there are important principles that may help us to get more out of meditation practice. There are forms of meditation practice which may be categorised according to the different vehicles of consciousness.
The practice which primarily utilises the vehicle known as the Karana Sarira, the Causal vehicle, is called in the East Raja Yoga, the Kingly or Royal Science. We will examine these important principles and try to take our minds into an understanding of the future of meditation.
Simon O'Rourke has been a member of the Theosophical Society for 30 years with a strong interest in Theosophy and the Secret Doctrine teachings.
