theosophy: the light that shines on the ideal of human progression and perfection
In this talk, we take a close look at the mandate of the Theosophical Society, which is to shed light on the ideal of human perfection, and on the myriad ways in which we may intelligently respond to the urgency of change that is so evident today.
The Theosophical Society, with its meetings, bookshops and libraries, functions in a manner akin to an embassy, or an outpost, where we may encounter the multifarious teachings, teachers, religions and philosophies which help lead us to the next stage in evolution, that of spiritual unfoldment. It has provided this valuable service for 150 years.
The ocean of Theosophy is vast, but not everything is Theosophy. One challenge, both for the Theosophical Society and the student or seeker, is to hold fast to two seemingly opposite things: an open mind (free and fearless investigation), and intense focus.
A made-up mind isn't going to get us very far. Maintaining direction however might be everything.
