Even if you haven't seen the movie, most of you would know of 'The Wizard of Oz'. Yet, did you know the original story is a Theosophical classic ? l. Frank Baum was a one time member of the Ramayama Theosophical Society (Chicago, Ill). This talk will be fun, interactive study of Baum's classic. Bring along your own copy, borrow a copy from the library, or read along with the Kindle version. We'll have a brief look at who L. Frank Baum was. Next, scan over the few pages written by John Algeo about Baum, before shared reading to discover the ancient wisdom hidden in the tale. Journey along the yellow brick road and Ali as we reconnect with Dorothy and her friends, the witches, and of course the Wizard.
Alison Giles-Damjanovska was baptised a Presbytarian, raised in a Spiritualist household, married into the Bardi/Jawi/Kutja culture before a mid-life conversion to Catholicsim and second marriage into the orthodox faith. Ali has had her fare share of religious influence and yet it has been Theosophy, of which she discovered at the age of sixteen, that has underpinned all of them. Ali holds a Bachelor of Arts in Aboriginal Studies and Secondary teaching degree with a specialisation in Aboriginal Education. She has also been a lifelong seer and clairaudient, who enjoys spending time with elementals in nature; she is a member of the Brotherhood of Angels.
